Incomplete applications and resubmissions

After preliminary review, the automated email can include a Notice of Incomplete or an invoice. An unpaid invoice or missing record prevents the application being considered complete.

A Status Letter during review identifies deficiencies. Follow the city’s resubmission process; ordinary review timelines do not apply to resubmissions. The permit is issued only after requirements are met and fees paid.

A building permit is permission to start that approved project. A submitted form is not the same authorization. For an appointment or application help, call 519-747-8712 or email building@waterloo.ca.
