Family admission and borrowing

A family admission is two adults and two children. Parents must be with children when using the pass; up to three extra children can be added at $2.65 each per visit. Parent-and-child admission is one parent and one child.

The city lists skate borrowing at Eastside and McCormick library branches. McCormick Branch is temporarily closed as checked October 14, 2026. Use Eastside for current borrowing, subject to stock and branch hours. Ask the library before using McCormick or arranging a return there. Library borrowing is separate from arena skate rental.

Wheelchair skates can be reserved at RIM and WMRC. Other aids, such as push bars, are not supplied; riders can bring an aid only with staff approval.

Ice and spectator rules

Wear skates, no shoes or sleighs, and do not carry a child on the ice. Keep moving safely, no rough play, and leave food and drink off the ice. Strollers are only at staff discretion during parent-and-child skates.

The city strongly recommends CSA-approved helmets and protective equipment. Schedules can change; the public-square rink is currently marked closed for the season.

The sponsored list names dates without years, including weekday/date combinations that may be from an earlier season. Use ActiveWaterloo to verify a free event instead of advertising those dates as upcoming.
